The Hawke’s Bay Airport Terminal Redevelopment was a landmark regional project involving a technically demanding commercial aluminium joinery package delivered through a complex, staged construction programme.
Venta completed the detailed design, manufacture and installation of the exterior commercial aluminium windows and doors. The package included extensive flush glazed façades, automatic entrances, pivot and hinged door systems, and detailed integration with the terminal’s structure and external louvre system.

Detailed design, manufacture and installation of the exterior commercial aluminium window and door package. This included extensive flush glazed façades, automatic entrances, pivot and hinged door systems, and detailed coordination with the external louvre system.
Aluminium window suite:
Omega® 106mm Flush Glazed Commercial Suite finished in 12 micron natural anodised aluminium.
Glazing:
Custom clear double glazing with argon filled cavities, incorporating toughened and laminated safety glass in varying configurations to meet the performance and safety requirements of each location.

Venta’s design, fabrication and site teams worked through intricate building geometry, seismic movement requirements, automatic entrance systems and numerous interfaces between the aluminium joinery, structure, cladding and external louvre system.
One of the most distinctive elements was the terminal’s arrowhead glazing. This defining architectural feature required precise detailing, accurate fabrication and close coordination between the joinery, structural and louvre packages.
The completed flush glazed façades bring natural light into the terminal and provide expansive views across the airfield. Finished in natural anodised aluminium, the joinery contributes to a durable and distinctive gateway to Hawke’s Bay.
